As every year, ScooterPower from France and Maxiscoot get together to organize a Drag Racing Championship so speed freaks from across Europe can go full throttle and get their bikes up to maximum speed under safe conditions.
The Drag Challenge Championship consists of three events and is currently the largest championship for 50cc bikes in Europe.
Next up is the perhaps most important event. With less than a month until ScooterPower Weekend, it is time for Maxiscoot to take stock.
2nd Leg Drag Challenge 2018
The ScooterPower Weekend 2018 will take place on July 7 and 8 at the kart track in Salbris, France.
This year there will be a re-run of the newly introduced 600 m track runs. The perfect opportunity for riders who want to give circuit track racing a try and perfect the art of knee dragging.
Like every year, there will be lots of fun and action alongside the races .
You can read up on what’s scheduled for the weekend and get some practical info here.
Drag racing over 150 meters. Free practice takes place on Saturday, the official races on Sunday.
Test bench use is free of charge, all riders have the opportunity to measure their bikes’ performance and adjust their engine settings.
Stunt and trick fans can show off their skills; the contest is about the fastest and the longest wheelie.
Those of you with skilled hands can try to win the grand prize by removing and reinstalling a cylinder as quickly as possible.
At the Maxiscoot booth fans can stock up on cool accessories, stickers and clothes. Attention: you can only pay cash!.
No category for this contest – two riders compete against each other over 50 meters . The first one to cross the line qualifies for the next round until only two competitors are left.
In the evening DJ Boxi will spin the records at the legendary foam party, and just like every year Maxiscoot will give away some Maxiscoot Toys. And at the end – SURPRISE!
Custom show for tuning fans, with fantastic paintwork and impressive modding projects. The most beautiful two-wheelers will be awarded in different categories by a jury.
KART TRACK SALBRIS
The gates to the International Karting Track in Salbris will open on Friday, July 6, at 7 pm. The teams have access to the paddocks with power supply and the huge campsite.
Participants can use all existing facilities: the test track, the burnout area before the starting line and the return lane with direct access to the paddocks.
Two tracks will be open at the ScooterPower Weekend 2018: the 150 meter straight drag strip for drag racing and the 600 meter kart track for all other racers.
The time measurement system by Maxiscoot ensures precise measurment of reaction time and top speed. Both are displayed in real time on two screens set up next to the track.
