On September 15 & 16, Maxiscoot and Scooter-Attack opened the gates of Bitburg Airbase to resurrect and celebrate Scooter Weekend 2018.
The program was chock-full of fun and action, and so many pilots from all across Europe showed up to test their machines to the 150 meter drag strip and the 765 meter circuit track.
Here a short report, the rankings and of course great photos!
150 meter in crazy 5.19 seconds
On Saturday, the pilot cum mechanic teams fine-tuned their engines one last time before heading off to the track or tracks to take their bikes to the limit. Congratulations to the Mission Drag Race Team who drove the an incredible record time this weekend – 150 metres in 5.19 seconds, on a MXS Racing twin cylinder engine.
First time on the + 700m track
The pilots and their scooters, mopeds, supermotos and what have you had the opportunity to test the new 765 meter long track for the first time; the two straights plus corners and chicanes turned out to be demanding and, eve more important, fun.
30 hp and beyond – wow!
Everone with an interest in engine performance had the chance to get the power of their two-wheeler measured at the free test bench, there all kinds of set-ups – Polini, Malossi, Stage6 or 2Fast. Riders could also use it to readjust settings before going full throttle on the track. We measured more than 30 hp on some vehicles, that’s honestly quite awesome.
Chrome, paint and power galore
The custom show attracted the custom crowd – elaborate paintwork, sparkling chrome and lots of other gimmicks. In addition, visitors had the chance to admire some stunning prototypes tuned to the hilt such as drag bikes with one, two and even three cylinders.
Shopping
At the Scooter-Attack stand people could buy stickers, accessories and stylish clothing, the team also presented the prototypes of the new R/T 70 and R/T 100 cylinders.
More shopping
In addition to the regular sales stand, there was a flea market and several auctions where visitors and riders could buy parts at bargain prices. Top tuning at low prices, what’s not to like?
The streets are burning
The Burnout Contest allowed all fans of burnt rubber to get a whiff, they quickly put on the old tires and let the party begin. It is quite a sight to watch them burst!
Awards
On Sunday towards the end of the event everyone gathered in front of the stage to watch the awards ceremony. There were lots of prizes, and you could clearly see what a great sporting spirit prevailed – everyone congratulated each other, no envy, no hatred, that’s the way it should be!
We would likt to say thank you to all riders and all visitors. We hope that the tuners among you will continue to work on their engines to treat the 50cc tuning community to even more powerful and fast machines. Now it’s time for the results of the official races and the photos!

We are looking forward to the next meeting at the International Karting Circuit Salbris on 20 and 21 October for the grand finale of the ScooterPower Drag Challenge 2018. So do not schedule anything for that weekend, this will your last chance to go full throttle before the winter break!
